Change, are you ready?
Whether you’re planning for it or not, here it comes—2012.
Will it be the end of your business because the Aztec calendar has run out? Will it
be the end of your business because of lack of planning for the future? Obviously,
the Aztecs did not plan very well for the future. Their culture was obliterated by the
Spaniards. They did leave behind some cool pyramids though.
Change is perpetual and the better you prepare your company for inevitable
changes, the more you can make those changes work toward greater
profitability.
How old and out-of-date is the software your company uses? Are the blades
sharp on all your equipment that cuts things? Is it the right time to purchase new
equipment that sets your company apart from the others? Sometimes a clever reevaluation
of a process incorporating new technologies with the old methods may
yield greater productivity and profits.
Ask your employees what changes could be made to help them do their jobs more
efficiently. Te answers can be very insightful. We are in a very competitive race,
and racing with old worn tires is dangerous. Don’t wait for that machine to disrupt
production before giving it the attention it needs, be proactive. Plan for the future,
it’s coming fast and furious. Ask the Aztecs.
